Prince William County Wins Battlefield Grants

The American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) promotes the preservation of significant historic battlefields associated with wars on American soil.

Prince William County has received two grants totaling $139,165 from the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP).

One grant will be used for the Bristoe Station and Kettle Run Preservation Plan. The second grant will assist the county in performing a military terrain analysis and document the view shed of the Cockpit Point Battlefield.

The grants are awarded to preserve and protect significant battle sites of all wars fought on American soil.
